Blackberry WEB desktop manager

Does anyone have a guide on how to upgrade device software using web desktop manager? I am able to install 3rd party apps ect but not sure where to start with device upgrades. More specfically from device software 4.1 or 4.2 upto 4.5

Hi Luke,

All you need to do is install the BlackBerry Firmware onto the BES server running Web Desktop Manager. Once the firmware is installed just go to the application tab in BES and assuming your use the default settings just point to \\SERVERNAME\Research In Motion and it will display the firmware packages you can deploy.

Have you successfully pushed out a device firmware upgrade over the air?

There is a lot of misconception on how wireless upgrades are going to work. In its current form a Blackberry device will only be able to obtain a wireless upgrade from the network carrier and not the BES. As soon as my carrier releases a wireless upgrade I will install it and post back with the details.
