Unable to restore a backup file to a replacement BlackBerry device

Problem
When attempting to restore a backup file to a replacement BlackBerry device, the restore process fails.
Cause
There is a corrupt database within the backup file.
Resolution
Perform a selective restore of the backup file, excluding the affected database. For instructions, see KB10339.
Also, ensure that information from the previous BlackBerry device is being backed up properly. For instructions, see KB03953.
