In the event that your device firmware is corrupted to a point where you can't reload your firmware you can download and run JL_Cmdr. Once you run the application select option 4 to Nuke your device (this erases all the data and firmware). Once nuked you can run the Application Loader again and you should be able to reload the firmware correctly.

    JL_Cmdr - DOWNLOAD NOW

I had the same problem, so I just ran the JL_Cmder and now my Curve just keeps looping trying to power on. Can't connect to desktop manager or do anything with it now. Any idea of how to get it to stop power looping??

Finally got it to stop power looping by holding down the power button for about 45 seconds. Then I was able to get BDM to connect and reload the software. Hope this isn't a common thing with Blackberry's. This is my first one.

    Hi,

You can try starting your device in mode (only supported on firmware 4.6 and 4.6) by following these steps:

    1. Remove and re-insert the BlackBerry smartphone battery.
    2. When the red LED light goes out, press and hold the Escape key (a.k.a. back button) as the BlackBerry smartphone is loading.
    3. When the dialog box appears, click OK.

If this fails you will not be able to backup your device.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    it's a stand-alone executable.
you just unzip the file & run the .exe

it'll place an icon JL_Cmder on your desktop

    Or goto to %ProgramFiles%\JL_Cmder\
    & click on JL_Cmder.cmd
