Unable to view the media card using the media manager tool

Problem
You are unable to view the media card using the media manager tool in the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.
Cause
Summary of Causes
This issue may be caused by the following:
- If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 2 (4.2.2), mass storage mode is not turned on on the BlackBerry smartphone.
- If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 1 (4.2.1), mass storage mode is turned on on the BlackBerry smartphone.
- The media card has not been formatted for your BlackBerry smartphone, or the folder structure on the media card is corrupt.
Important: When running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 2, mass storage mode must be turned ON in order to view the media card using the media manager tool. When running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 or Service Pack 1, mass storage mode must be turned OFF in order to view the media card using the media manager tool.
Resolution
Complete the appropriate resolution for your cause.
Cause 1
If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 Service Pack 2, mass storage mode is not turned on on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Turn on mass storage mode. For instructions, see

Cause 2
If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 or Service Pack 1, mass storage mode is turned on on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution 2
Turn off mass storage mode. For instructions, see
KB13564.
Cause 3
The media card has not been formatted for your BlackBerry smartphone, or the folder structure on the media card is corrupt.
Resolution 3
Format the media card. For instructions, see
KB10527.
Workaround
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, remove and re-insert the BlackBerry smartphone battery and media card.
