Correct order to start and stop BlackBerry services

Environment
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and 4.1 for Microsoft® Exchange
Details

Start and stop the BlackBerry services in the following order:
  1. BlackBerry Router.
  2. BlackBerry Dispatcher.
  3. BlackBerry Controller.
  4. All remaining BlackBerry services.
After starting the services, close BlackBerry Manager.

Note: BlackBerry Enterprise Server services can also be started in Administrative Tools > Services.

Start and stop services in the specified order to reduce the number of errors that appear in the Microsoft® Windows® Event Viewer Application Log.

Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
