The new BlackBerry 8110 is NOT NextG compatible though, and this thread relates to NextG-compatible BlackBerry devices...

BESadmin's post was just directed at cjturn's post about the 8110 appearing on the Telstra download page. The BlackBerry 9000 will not be available to the general public until the end of the year if not early next year. We may see a few thousand units trickle in but they will be for internal use and premium customers. As the BlackBerry 9000 will be the exact same device worldwide you can buy one from AT&T in June/July.

It's Australia - we won't see the "BlackBerry 9000" UNTIL the year 9000! LOL

Seriously though, as BerryReview.com pointed out - we're JUST getting the "new" BlackBerry 8110, yet they've (North America) had the BlackBerry 8120 for a while now, and just released the BlackBerry 8130!

I can understand a "reasonable" delay, but this is just ridiciously...

They even have at least one newer model in the BlackBerry Curve series that we don't have!

True, you have me there...

But North America still has a LOT of BlackBerry devices that are yet to be release here.

Hi David,
I Really hope your right on this one.
It would be a first if we got a device before the rest of the world...

But will it be on a ****e plan like all other telstra phones??

How reliable is your source as Australia is always wayyyy down the list on getting new technology like mobiles. AUstralia wont even see the 8320 until the end of the month so how could the 9000 be coming in in a few weeks times?????

Tried to confirm today but as yet no luck ... As soon as I know, you guys (and girls) will
We seem to it have pretty good here in Aust as far as a phone being only released with one carrier. As there is just about always the 'Outright Buy' option on all handsets.
