As an adviser to many corporate networks I would not allow the iPhone to be deployed. My main concern is that the iPhone is an "Entertainment Device" by design and it will be many years before it could be considered a corporate mobile device. To help people understand what I am saying this would be like Sony selling the Playstation 3 as the ultimate corporate workstation after adding a word processor. To offer some positive comments I would consider the iPhone for SBE customers if the following changes are made:

1. An option to disable the iPod feature during business hours
2. A better designed onscreen keyboard that increases accuracy and input speed. The current layout is very slow and cumbersome to type on
3. The security of the device needs to be improved as it is totally inadequate that the device can be cracked within days of every firmware release.

I agree with you on the security side of things but am thankful (as are about 1,000,000 other hacked iPhone users) for the software contract unlock. Apple are really starting to become the 'Microsoft' of the new millenium with their 'Big Brother', Do as I Say !! attitude...

From: iPhone vs. BlackBerry - WSJ.com (The Wall Street Journal)

"Am I to understand that in addition to having YouTube, a "totally cool" browser and, finally, the ability to sync with Outlook, I still can't clip and paste on the iPhone or send group emails ? Because of the lack of this basic business tool, I had my iPhone for exactly 24 hours before returning it. Until the ability to communicate with my co-workers is swift and efficient, I'll stay with my BlackBerry."

That's the best and most true comment I've heard regarding the whole BBerry V iPhone debate. Personally I use my BB for work and the iPhone only gets used to listen to music or surf the web at home.

The fact is though...If you run this same poll on an Apple site, the results would be totally opposite to what the results are running here...
