Hey guys...new here, with some questions

Hi guys...new to the forum.

I've been wanting a BB for a while now, and after using an iMate K-Jam for a while (never, ever AGAIN!), I went back to a normal Motorola V9.

Now, I'm gonna be pursuing a BlackBerry, and have been trying to narrow down my list.

I'll primarily be using it for:

phone
SMS
email
(MAYBE) GPS
and would LOVE wi-fi

now so far..I like the 8310 the best...but no wi-fi??

damn shame!

It's almost exactly what I am after, apart from the fact it doesn't have wi-fi.

Will a "new" model have it, and what are my other/better options?

And I think i'll be buying this online, somewhere, weather its the US, or from the BlackBerry store online (from NSW i think), or Ebay...as online prices seem MUCH more reasonable than retail store prices (and sh!tty unknowledgable customer service reps).

Thanks guys!

** Quick edit...

Damn I'm a knob...

Just checked..BlackBerry

the 8320 has wi-fi...but is it available in Aus yet?

If not, I might have to get it online, from a US online store.

Can anyone recommend a good one?

The Bold is beautiful

like it a lot

but, looking to get something before or around August..

I've seen the BlackBerry Curve 8320...on ebay from a few "powersellers" for around $399...which is like $420 Aussie

$300 cheaper than the (to be) RRP in Australia

that might be the go I guess.

It's a risk..but might be worth it.

One point. The 8320 does not have GPS. (Which you had a 'Maybe' against in your original list).
I would have to agree with Tfer, The 9000 suits your bill perfectly. (There is another thread in this forum with regards to availability in June for Australia: Next G for Blackberry )
We'll see...
I would put up with the K-Jam for a couple more weeks to see if this one comes true as the you would be getting everything on your wish list, no compromise.

Looks like I might have to wait.

Although.....

I AM willing to comprimise GPS for Wi-Fi...hmmm

but then again...I'd rather not make any sacrifices...

I'm guessing the 9000 will be a LIL pricey yeah??

RRP of about $900US?

ouch

I have a question...

I just stumbled across this on another website:

It's an answer to a question, weather the person could buy a BB from the US, and use it here (unlocked)

"Everything won't work. Calls and SMS may work but things like Email and MMS won't as they need RIM's servers. To make things work, you'll need a Blackberry plan which Virgin doesn't offer."

You can't sign up for a data/email plan if you buy/use a US BlackBerry? Even if its been unlocked, really??

Ah damn!
