Hi,

I hope this is the place for my question.
I am considering moving from pc to mac and was wondering if anyone knows the compatibility between a macbook pro and the 8310 curve?
I want to be able to sync my calender, address book etc as I do with my pc, can't seem to find out if they'll work together, any help appreciated.

oops! should read 8310 curve

Hi,

When using a BlackBerry on a Mac you can't use the standard Blackberry Desktop Manager software. What you can do is download the free PocketMac application from the BlackBerry website or purchase "The Missing Sync for BlackBerry". So I can confirm you can sync your device with Mac.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,
Can confirm that both of these work well (although PocketMac can be a little glitchy).
The upcoming BlackBerry OS's look to have the iTunes sync function (same as iPhone) which is really easy to use and syncs your chosen media files seamlessly.
Hope this helps and if you have any further questions just post them up...
Kind Regards,
Greg Myers

Something a little bit different:

I use Spanning Sync (Spanning Sync - Sync iCal and Google Calendar) to sync iCal with my Google Calendar and Address Book with my Google Calendar contacts and then use Google Sync on my Curve to sync to my BB's calendar and GooSync (GooSync Home Page) to sync the Google contacts to my BB.

GooSync will also sync Google Calendar but I use it mainly for my contact syncing.

I know that both programs/services cost money but for me it's an ideal solution.

Greg, how do you get the data from .Mac to your BB?

I was under the impression that iSync wasn't supporting BBs (yet.)

Doesn't sync directly back to your BlackBerry but I sync between Macbook and .Mac then sync the BlackBerry with Macbook. (I know it's not the wireless type sync but keeps everything the same throughout).
Apple are announcing big changes for .Mac over the next couple of weeks so we might see some type of wireless sync then...
