Microsoft Outlook Work Emails

Just got a 8310 on the vodafone $79+$30 data plan.

My company is a fairly small company and we use microsoft outlook. All the emails are stored on the work server and when I hook my laptop into the docking station it updates outlook on my laptop. I can use webmail also from another computer.

My email contains different directories within outlook for the different projects I am currently working on. All the new emails i recieve go into my main inbox and then I move them into their directories as needed. We dont have a BES on the server.

I want to setup the blackberry so I can see all the outlook folders and then have them syn to and from when I do a sync through the device manager as I often refer back to specific emails when replying etc. I have picked all the folders from outlook in the blackberry destop manager/email settings/folder redirection but I only have the folder heading under the messages/view folder directory but no actual emails in the folders.

A few guys at work are using Imates jasjams and have it setup with the outlook folders and have no trouble syncing with the server.

I have currently got it setup as a basic POP system where only the new emails are recieved by the blackberry.

How do I get the email to run how I want?

The only way to get your device functioning as you described is to install BlackBerry Enterprise Server. In order for you to get up and running you can download a 1 user free edition of BlackBerry Professional via this link: BlackBerry Professional Download . If you need help installing the BES software please post back and we can assist you as it is very easy.

The BlackBerry Professional software is free for one user and the BlackBerry plan costs $49.95 for unlimited data (You will have to make some simple changes on the BES to ensure the data is unlimited).

Hopefully our company IT guy will install BES on the server for me this week.

What are some good 3rd party email programs to use instead of the default blackberry one? I am using a trial of empower but it has frozen on me a few times after replying to email the original email stays as the home screen and requires a battery out to clear the error.

Will newer released software enable a larger than 2GB media to be used in the 8310?

OS 4.5 allows use of an 8GB media card. Haven't tried the 16GB yet so can't verify.

You can get a 1 user BES for free or you can purchase a 5 user BES for $695AUS. Once everyone sees how your device works on BES you will find most people will start wanting to use a BlackBerry.
