    Hi,

If you are with Telstra, you can try dialing

**61*101*11*25# and Press the green button to make call. It would increase your ringing time.

Other option would be - Go to Profiles -> Advanced -> Click on Menu Key and Edit. Choose the Phone Option and then you can customize on your own.

Let us know how you go.

    Cheers
    Abhi

    Hi,

To provide some additional information on Abhi's post above please refer details below:

    Ring Length Settings:

In order to extend a mobile devices ring length open the Phone application (Press Send or select Call Log) and dial the following:

    **61*<message bank number>**<ring length in seconds>#

    Example: **61*101**25# (Press Send)

<message bank number> = This is the number you dial to access you providers message bank service.

<ring length in seconds> = This command will extend your ring time before diversion from 15 to 25 seconds. When you change the diversion time it should be done in blocks of 5 to a maximum of 30 (e.g 15, 20, 25 or 30).

    Australian Examples:

    Telstra Message Bank Users:
    **61*101*11*25# (Press Send)

    Telstra Memo Service Users:
    **61*102*11*25# (Press Send)

    OPTUS Message Bank Users:
    **61*321**25# (Press Send)

    Vodafone Message Bank Users:
    **61*121**25# (Press Send)

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Hi, welcome to the Forums.

I also found that by adding a song as your ringtone (ie. download it from your PC etc) the ringing time goes automatically longer.

    My 2 cents.

there all the same, you just need to substitute the red underline bit with the voice mail number for 3

    **61*121**25# (Press Send)

I believe the number is 333. Just try dialing this number from your device first and see if it calls your message bank.

I am only a week old in the Blackberry world. (Glad to be here!) I also want to make my ringer last longer, but what is a message bank? Is that the same as my voicemail? I am with Sprint, and I just dial '1' to get to my voicemail. I tried using 333, as Gary suggested, but it didn't work for me.

The ringer only lasts about 8 seconds on my phone by default, which means I often don't get to it in time. It seems like there should be an option to change that in the phone, but I haven't found it anywhere. I know how to make the text message alert sound more times, but there is no apparent way to do this for incoming calls. Any pointers would be appreciated.

    Accoording to a Sprint Tech:

"The ring time cannot be changed on the Sprint Network. It's set for roughly 23 seconds which can vary depending on signal strength. Meaning, if the signal is really strong, the network may ring the phone longer than 23 seconds, but over 30 seconds is a rare case. If your signal is weak, your phone may ring for well under 23 seconds usually due to the extra time needed to locate the phone taking up part of the 23 seconds. Unfortunately, there's no way to change it."
