Here's the patch
http://www.blackberry.com/dst2007/pa...oneupdater.jad

After it's installed...goto
Options -> Date/Time
The time should be correct.
Click on the Menu key (one left of the trackball with all the dots)
Select Update Time.

A note to those who have the incorrect time displayed even after patching.
- Goto Options->Date/Time
- The correct time is displayed here. (if not, check you have the correct Timezone)
- press Menu key & select Update Time

This appears to be a Zen Theme issue. (The Blackberry does know the correct time as Calendar, Alarms, Emails, etc use the correct time).

Hi,

Just as an FYI the patch above is for devices running firmware 4.2 (To check go to "Options > About > Third Line" on your device). Also to install this patch just email the link above to the users device and when the click on the link it will take them to the patch download\install page. If you need to deploy this patch to a large number of users post back and I will provide a wireless deployment guide. Also to confirm the version of your BES open Blackberry Manager and select Help > About BlackBerry Manager (please post back these details).

Thanks,

Gary

Hi there,

I've been trying to update a Blackberry 7130G for the last week so that it will recognise the correct time zone information and not be an hour out.

At this point in time it has the 4.2 firmware installed and the TimeZoneUpdater patch for 4.2 and it still refuses to realise that DST has kicked in.

The 'network time' is being reported as, say, 13:15 but the phone keeps changing itself back to 12:15 when I try to get it to update the time.

Is there anything else I can try to persuade the phone that it is an hour out?

**Edit: I should also mention that I am using the Sydney/Canberra time zone.

Also of note is if I change the timezone to Hobart then the time displays correctly. This workaround, while it seems to work, isn't ideal and shouldn't be required.

Hi,

Change your device time source to Network and then select the update time option from the menu button. Once this is done restart the device and the time should be corrected.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi everyone

I have the same issue with my Blackberry pearl. I have indeed changed the time source to 'network' and the phone still moves the time backwards 1 hour.

If I manually adjust the time, my calender puts all my appointments 1 hour earlier when synchronising.

Any other suggestions?

Many thanks
Bianca

Did you install the BlackBerry Daylight Savings update onto your device? If you haven't just email the link above to your BlackBerry email address and click on it from your device.

I am having the exact same problem.

OS: 4.2.2.141 (platform 2.4.0.62)
DST2007 Patch Installed

When I go to update the time, it puts it back an hour, and the calendar is off by an hour. I have completely deleted the OS and reinstalled, but still the same problem. This is driving me nuts! Anyone else have any other solution?

Hi,

What is you exact device model and what carrier do you use? Once you post back I will check if your carrier has any updated firmware.

Thanks,

Gary
