Exclamation Hourglass issue

Hi!

I’m new to the thread and new to blackberries, and I must say I love them!

I’ve got a 8100 pearl, but am experiencing and issue. When accessing the internet
I sometimes get the hour glass that spins for a while and the page doesn’t open, or half
Opens so I’ll go to the menu and select stop, however the hour glass doesn’t go away.
I’ll exit the browser and it’ll still be there. It sometimes won’t go away even when I turn it
Off then turn it back on.

What is this?

I’m with Vodafone.

THanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Possibly a firmware upgrade/update may be in order (the firmware is your BlackBerry's operating system), and the upgrade may stop this problem for you.

Can you provide:
  • Current Firmware (go Options > About)

I am assuming your Vodafone BlackBerry plan is on BIS (for personal use)

Hi,
Before updating your firmware, try a battery pull reset to fix the issue. (Remove the battery for approx 30 sec then replace)
Post back if you are still having issues.

Hi,

I received your email that you sent with your firmware details (V4.2.0.71). Your best option would be to upgrade you device firmware as this will resolve the issue and also give you many new features. To perform the upgrade follow these steps:

1. Download the latest Vodafone firmware for the 8100 (CLICK HERE - Firmware 4.5.0.81).
2. Install the firmware onto a PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
3. Connect your device and open Desktop Manager.
4. After approximately 30 seconds you will be prompted to upgrade your device. Select OK and follow the prompts.
5. After approximately 45 minutes your device will be upgraded and your device data restored (ensure you don't interrupt this process even if it appears to be taking too long)
6. After this process is complete you need to log onto the Vodafone BIS website and resend your service books (if you don't know what I'm referring to just call Vodafone support and ask them to send them for you).

Thanks,

Gary
