I get duplicate e-mails if my computer is on

I am using blackberry BIS, I set up my e-mail at att.blackberry.com using outlook web access/server information.

I'm getting only one copy of an e-mail in my account, but for some reason my blackberry gets two copies about 1 minute apart. The only clue I've got is that this only happens when my computer is connected to the internet.

Please help! I've wasted about 6 hours trying to figure this out

Hi and welcome to the Forum,

You mentioned you have set up your ap.blackberry.net email address, and I am assuming you have set up a forwarding rule for your existing email account to your ap.blackberry.net address.... is this correct?

One simple fix / thing to try, is under your carrier's BIS website, you can add an existing email address, by entering the email address and the password. This way, the ap.blackberry.net email address acts as the carrier for your existing email account, and the emails are pushed to the BlackBerry. This should sort out the duplicate emails.

Note, if it is a gmail email account, please set up a filter (in the carrier's BIS website, under the gmail email account) to not receive emails from the your own gmail account (ie. will stop receiving a copy of your sent email).

I hope this helps out... fi so, please let us know... if not, please post back here.

Hi,

This issue normally occurs if you setup BlackBerry Desktop Manager incorrectly. Please try uninstalling BlackBerry Desktop Manager and after the reboot reinstall it again but ensure you only select the BlackBerry Internet Service (or listed as Personal in DM 4.6) option. Also make sure you don't select the Desktop Redirector option.

Thanks,

Gary
