    Hi,
seem to remember I got this with an earlier OS. I had to wipe and start again. Used JL_cmdr or whatever it's called. Wait for another response to be certain but I think that's the same error message.

    Hi,

When you get error 523 occurs you need to reload your device firmware. Assuming you already have already downloaded and install the latest firmware follow these steps:

    1. Remove your device battery
    2. Go to "C:\Program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader" and run loader.exe
    3. Once the loader starts connect your device with the battery removed
    4. Once your device is detected proceed with the wizard and reinsert the device battery.

Note: Ensure that on the application selection screen you select all the required components.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Hey Gary,

tried these instructions bout 4 times and didn't work kept getting an error message in the app loader,

then tried Jl Cmder and tried a complete wipe bout 6-7 times and that wouldn't work either, then using this i did a factory restore, then tried your method again and worked,

now to try and restore my data, damn me for not backing up every week,

    thanks for your help,
