BlackBerry Mobile Voice System: Unify Communications in your Business

BlackBerry Mobile Voice System: Unify Communications in your Business

BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry® MVS) does for voice what BlackBerry® Enterprise Server does for email—it unifies fixed and mobile communications so mobile employees are always reachable through a single phone number whether they're at their desk or on the go.

BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS) is a leading edge technology that converges office desk phones with BlackBerry® smartphones. Itunifies fixed and mobile voice communications with an intuitive, integrated approach that allows users to seamlessly access standard enterprise voice features, such as conferencing, call controls and extension dialing without having to first manually dial in to the corporate voice system.

Employees no longer have to give out multiple phone numbers or manage multiple voicemail boxes. One business number is connected to all their mobile devices, including their BlackBerry smartphone, and all calls are routed to one, convenient voicemail box.

And BlackBerry Mobile Voice System extends the value of the security features, IT policies and system management functionality you already enjoy as part of the BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution.

BlackBerry MVS offers a way to better manage mobile devices:

Maintain Control of Mobile Phones and Telecom Systems: With BlackBerry MVS, BlackBerry smartphones are automatically authenticated to BlackBerry Enterprise Server, helping to identify callers and ensure that only authorized persons are calling into the system or accessing services. Telecom managers can also set policies that require all inbound and outbound calls to use the corporate phone number so calls can be routed through the corporate PBX for logging or recording. They can also leverage BlackBerry Enterprise Server wireless commands and policies, which enable asset tracking, reporting, password protection, call restrictions and other security functions.

Leverage and add value to existing telecom systems: BlackBerry MVS unifies fixed line and mobile voice communications using the open, standards-based BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution platform and interfaces with heterogeneous voice infrastructures, regardless of the underlying technology. It mobilizes all major TDM and IP-PBX systems, delivering consistent feature sets to BlackBerry smartphone users.

Turn phone numbers into corporate assets: With BlackBerry MVS, organizations can easily maintain control over mobile caller identity and corporate phone numbers. Whether in or out of the office, workers can provide their customers and clients with one phone number to be reached at, presenting a seamless communications experience.

Users Spend Less Time in Voicemail, More Time on Business

These days, more people work from home or travel for business, making it difficult to reach someone at their desk. About 70% of business phone calls are sent to voicemail, which means employees can spend up to 90 minutes a day just keeping on top of their messages. Not to mention the frustration of the caller not being able to find someone on the first call.

BlackBerry MVS keeps employees connected and immediately responsive to customer needs in multiple ways:
Simpler Message Management: A single telephone number rings up to four wireless devices simultaneously or sequentially. All unanswered calls go to a single corporate voice mail box, offering one-stop messaging.
Consistent Caller ID: Customers and contacts see a number they recognize when they are called because whether the call was made from a desk phone or a BlackBerry smartphone, it’s seen as the same number.
Easy Call Management: Easily transfer calls to other users using the menu or star commands with audible prompts on BlackBerry MVS-enabled smartphones.
Work Where You Need to Be: Employees don’t worry about leaving their desks when they’re expecting an important call. Fixed-Mobile call switching means they can seamlessly transfer calls from their desk phone to their BlackBerry smartphone.
One User Interface: A single phone client makes it easy to switch back and forth between personal and enterprise phone numbers.
Prioritize Calls: Assign priorities to specific phone numbers and callers so important calls get through while disruptions are minimized.
Work with Others: Easily add parties to a call for on-demand voice collaboration using star commands with audible prompts or intuitive visual menus.
Advanced Conferencing: Conduct quick, authenticated conference calls from any location on a BlackBerry smartphone without requiring third party conference lines, or administrators to set up, schedule or moderate the conference. Users can set up traditional call-in conference bridges or have the system call conference participants at the appointed time.
BlackBerry Mobile Voice System promises to make daily work just that much easier – with value to both the busy employee and the cost-effective organization.
BlackBerry MVS requires BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.1 software and is available in North America as the BlackBerry MVS Upgrade Pack for BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.1.
