Mark/Space Announces The Missing Sync for BlackBerry

Mark/Space Announces The Missing Sync for BlackBerry
8th January 2007

New Mac Synchronization Product to Focus on Reliability and Multimedia Features

Mark/Space, Inc. today announced the latest addition to the company's highly-rated Missing Sync family of synchronization products for Mac OS X: The Missing Sync™ for BlackBerry®. Expected to ship in the first quarter, The Missing Sync for BlackBerry will provide a reliable synchronization environment for owners of BlackBerry devices from Research In Motion (RIM), including the popular BlackBerry® Pearl™ smartphone.

According to company president and CEO, Brian Hall, "The BlackBerry Pearl is attracting an even broader range of mobile customers to BlackBerry. That makes the BlackBerry market very interesting to us. Our Missing Sync products are known for their reliability and multimedia features that make mobile devices shine with a Mac, and we think the capabilities of the latest BlackBerry handsets are a perfect match."

The Missing Sync for BlackBerry will synchronize information between Mac OS X's Address Book and iCal applications and the corresponding applications on BlackBerry handsets. Built-in support for Apple's Sync Services technology means that information can also be synchronized with other Sync Services-savvy applications, including Microsoft Entourage 2004 and Chronos' SOHO Organizer. Memos will sync with the included Mark/Space Notebook application, or alternatively with Microsoft Entourage or Bare Bones Software's Yojimbo.

BlackBerry Pearl owners will appreciate the multimedia capabilities of The Missing Sync for BlackBerry, which will interface directly with Apple's iPhoto and iTunes applications. Users will be able to choose iPhoto albums in The Missing Sync to be resized and downloaded to the BlackBerry Pearl for mobile viewing. Photos taken with the BlackBerry Pearl's camera will be automatically imported into iPhoto or a folder on the Mac. The Missing Sync's iTunes plugin will let the user select playlists of unprotected music and podcasts to be downloaded to the BlackBerry Pearl's memory card. If the playlist changes, those changes will then be mirrored on the handset during the next sync.
