QuickPlayer for BlackBerry Available Worldwide
16th January 2007

BlackBerry Users Empowered with a Wealth of Streaming Audio Content Choices from Major Media Companies

Today, millions of BlackBerry users worldwide will be able to significantly improve their media content snacking experience with the availability of QuickPlay Media’s QuickPlayer for BlackBerry®. The QuickPlayer for BlackBerry is the first application to enable users to receive streaming audiocasts to their BlackBerry devices. Through QuickPlayer for BlackBerry, users will now have simple and easy access to business and finance updates, as well as premium news, entertainment, health and sports information. QuickPlayer for BlackBerry service users will be billed $7.95 (U.S. Dollars) per month on their credit card.

Now available at GetQuickPlayer.com, the QuickPlayer for BlackBerry application provides streamed audiocasts (similar to podcasts), 5-7 minutes, from top-tier media companies and providers including: ABC News, AccuWeather.com, Clear Channel, Gaiam, MarketWatch.com, The Wall Street Journal and Westwood One.

For the very first time, BlackBerry owners can enjoy audiocasts on their device without waiting for a download. Other highlights include the ability to create ‘My Channels’ that will track only the audiocasts the user is interested in, and an easy to use send-to-a-friend tool. All channels including news, sports, and entertainment are regularly updated so subscribers can be informed and entertained anytime, anywhere.

QuickPlay Media manages all aspects of the QuickPlayer for BlackBerry service including content management, subscription management, content delivery, and billing through the QuickPlay Mobile Media Platform (MMP). A member of the BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program, QuickPlay Media developed the player by combining its own proprietary streaming technology with advanced audio codecs natively supported in the BlackBerry 8700 Series™, BlackBerry Pearl™ and BlackBerry 7130 Series™ devices from Research In Motion®.

“QuickPlayer for BlackBerry empowers consumers with a wealth of streaming content choices that makes the BlackBerry experience even more productive,” said Raja Khanna, chief creative officer and co-founder of QuickPlay Media. “Today’s announcement represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our company and continues to strengthen our longstanding relationship with Research In Motion.”
