Blackberry Pearl 8100 Smartphone

Hi,

I am currently using the following:

Device:
Blackberry Pearl 8100 Smartphone

Environment:
Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.2

Issue:
Blackberry does not synchronize calendar. I get an error message saying that the the Blackberry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close when trying to synchronize my calendar items.

Actions:
I have deleted the Research in Motion folder and let desktop manager re-create one automatically. After I delete the folder, device synchronizes perfectly with no issue but same problem occurs after a few days.


Conclusion:
Please advise of resolution options.
Help will be greatly appreciated

The first thing I would try would be to do a full uninstall of the desktop software and the restart the machine. Download and install the new desktop manager 4.3 using this LINK. Once installed can you please perform the same tests and post back?

Thanks for the suggestions..

I have unistalled the software and installed DM 4.3.. I did that for 2 Pearls and both are still synchronizing fine..

If any issues arise, will advise..

Hi,

I am currently using the following:

Device:
Blackberry Pearl 8100 Smartphone

Environment:
Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5

Issue:
I had the Blackberry Desktop Manager v4.3 and it was working fine. I changed pc and re-installed the DM v4.3 on the new pc. When I tried to sync my Pearl, I got the error message "error code-0x80040fb3 - Check Documentation".

Actions:
So I upgraded to DM v4.5 and it still came up with the same error message. I deleted the Research In Motion folder and tried to sync again but I still get the same problem.


Can I get some assistance with regards to this?
Help will be much appreciated.

Problem

During a wired synchronization of the BlackBerry smartphone Address Book, the following error message is received:
Error Encountered 0x80040FB3, Check Documentation

Cause

One or more contacts in the Address Book is missing information or has invalid characters in the First, Last or Company Name fields.

Resolution

Complete the following steps in the required order. When the issue has been resolved, do not perform any subsequent resolution steps.
  1. Locate the Address Book contacts that contain incorrect information or are missing information.
  2. Correct the information or remove the contact.
  3. If you cannot locate the incorrect contact, turn on advanced synchronization logging. For more information on turning on advanced synchronization logging, see KB01451.
