I can put my SIM into another device and all the GPRS functionality (web/maps etc) works a treat. The second I get the SIM back into the 8120, I get nothing but email and calendar functionality.

The error message that I get is as follows;

"Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service, please try again later.

If the problem persists please contact your administrator"

This occurs when BlackBerry smartphones request and immediately cancel a connection, creating IPPP Notify-Request packets with a size of 0. The Notify-Request packet is terminated but the receiving queue size is not reduced causing the queue to increase in size. The issue is normally related to a device connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, but in your case it indicates your device is unable to send\receive any data. The short and simple resolution is to get a BlackBerry plan.

I have all the associated datapacks and Blackberry plans from Telstra. All have been provisioned correctly. Think I may go get an iPhone

I think that may be a good idea as a Blackberry was designed to be used on the BlackBerry network.
