Hi,

How are people sending video to you? For example are they MMS or attached to emails? Also are you connected to the BlackBerry network via BlackBerry Enterprise Server or the BlackBerry Internet Service?

Thanks,

Gary

A BlackBerry can device can support MMS and video attachments but it will depend on your BIS version and the device firmware that you are running. In order to use MMS on your BlackBerry the MMS service codes have to be added and activated on your account. As Optus have updated their BIS website to version 2.5 you will need firmware 4.5 to utilize the new features. To upgrade your firmware just download the file below and install it onto your PC running BlackBerry Desktop Manager, then when you connect your device you will be prompted to upgrade:

BlackBerry Pearl (TM) 8100 Handheld Software v4.5.0.75 (English & Chinese)

Package Version: 4.5.0.75

Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.5.0.52
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.66
  • File name: 8100EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_O ptus.exe
  • File size: 73.88MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.
