Blackberry Pearl 8100 Smartphone - error code 0x80040fb3
Hi,
I am currently using the following:
Device:
Blackberry Pearl 8100 Smartphone
Environment:
Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.5
Issue:
I had the Blackberry Desktop Manager v4.3 and it was working fine. I changed pc and re-installed the DM v4.3 on the new pc. When I tried to sync my Pearl, I got the error message "error code-0x80040fb3 - Check Documentation".
Actions:
So I upgraded to DM v4.5 and it still came up with the same error message. I deleted the Research In Motion folder and tried to sync again but I still get the same problem.
Can I get some assistance with regards to this?
Help will be much appreciated.

Environment
BlackBerry® Desktop Software 4.3
BlackBerry® Device Software 4.3
Windows® XP
Problem
During a wired synchronization of the BlackBerry smartphone Address Book, the following error message is received:
Error Encountered 0x80040FB3, Check Documentation
Cause
One or more contacts in the Address Book is missing information or has invalid characters in the First, Last or Company Name fields.
Resolution
Complete the following steps in the required order. When the issue has been resolved, do not perform any subsequent resolution steps.
Locate the Address Book contacts that contain incorrect information or are missing information.
Correct the information or remove the contact.
If you cannot locate the incorrect contact, turn on advanced synchronization logging. For more information on turning on advanced synchronization logging, see KB01451.
If the issue is caused by an invalid contact you just need to open Outlook and select Contacts. Then from contacts go to "View > Current View > and select Phone List" as this will display the entries in a table in which you can easily see entries with no first name, last name or company name. As this is occurring with the calendar you can open Outlook and from the Calendar go to "View > Current View > All Appointments" to see a full table list. Within Calendar appointments with attachments can cause sync issues. Personally I think this issue may be caused by corrupt entries on the device (or a corrupt calendar database). To correct this issue you can perform the following tasks:
1. Open Blackberry Desktop Manager and select Backup\Restore
2. Connect your device and select Backup and then select where you want to save the file.
3. Once the backup is complete select the restore option and then select the backup you just performed.
4. Once the restore has completed disconnect your device and resend the service books from you BIS website.
I recently bought a blackberry 8820 , first days averything was ok, then after 4 days , I decided to correct my address book in Outlook , since I cant' Synchronize any more.
Problem :Error 0x80040FB3,
I follow procedure described in doc ID KB14818 and then in KB01451 as you mention but without any success.
I'm working with Blackberry DM v4.5
I'have checked every address in my outlook, all seem to be ok (name, 1st name and cy name are ok, without symbols)
I performed an hard reset, I also reinitialize my blackberry (wipe handheld,to delete all the data from BlackBerry) and still no results before a new synchronization.
Do you have any idea ?
thanks in advance for your reply
(and sorry for 'bad english' ..., I'm a french native)

Hi,
The best way to check you contacts is to export it to a CSV file and then view it in Excel. This way you can instantly see blank contacts or columns that contain invalid data (e.g. a number field that contains letters). Also I always recommend performs a clean uninstall and then installing the latest version after a restart. Below I have provided the links for these options:
