Question upgrading 8100 with mac

i just got a pearl from a friend and wiped it, and got a plan and all that...i am trying to upgrade the software to include internet support and everything else, but i cant seem to find anything using a mac. i have the pocketmac software, but that doesnt perform software upgrades like the desktop manager seems to do (olny for pc)

do i have to jump on a pc for this update?

Hi,

You will have to use a OC to upgrade your PC. In Short you need a copy of BlackBerry Desktop Manager and a copy of the latest firmware installed. Once you connect the device you will be prompted to upgrade.
