Blackberry wiping PC calendar during synchronisation

Hi Folks,

When I sync my BB to my PC it comes up with a warning that ceratin items in hand held will be updated on PC and vice versa.

I always clicked OK, UNTIL I found that the BB had wiped all my calendar history in the PC except for say the last 2 months.

I then realised that you could check detail and see what records were going to be updated in both systems.

Sometimes there are no updates from BB to PC (Most of my calendar work is done on the PC)

Whenever these details state that certain items form handheld will be deleted from PC, these are normally valid calendar items I want to retain in my PC calendar.

There is no method to say "No, I do not want to delete these from the PC"

I therefore 'cnacle" the sychonistaion and the BB is therefore not updated with stuff form the PC, which means when I am away from my desk my calendar is out of date.

What can I do to stop the BB deleteing historical calendar records?

Hi,

Normally when this fault occurs we have to erase the device and wipe\reconfigure it to prevent further deletions. Prior to wiping the device you can take a Backup by selecting the Backup\Restore option in Desktop Manager. To erase the device you need to go to "Options > Security Options > General Settings >Press the menu button (left of the trackball) and select Wipe Handheld". As the wipe will restore your device to factory defaults you will need to log onto you BIS client and resend the service books. Also you need to ensure you set the device Date\Time which is located in the options menu. Other things to consider are updating the devices firmware and updating your version of Blackberry Desktop Manager. As I am unaware of your technical ability please post back on what you need further information on.
