Not receiving SMS once phone is switched on

Hi there

Hoping someone can help me. I was overseas for 3 weeks, prior to my trip, I turned my blackberry off.

I have since returned and switched my phone back on. All my backlog emails were received, however I did not receive any text messages that I know where sent whilst I was away.

I'm hoping someone else has either experienced this problem and/or has a solution to resolve it.

Many thanks.

Kind regards
Claudia

Hi Claudia,
Try setting your SMS validity period to max.
You can do this by; 'Options'>'SMS'>'Validity Period'>change this setting to 'Max' and save changes.
This should rectify the problem. If you have any further issues please do not hesitate to post back here.
Kind Regards,
Greg Myers

Thank you Greg. It was already set like that.

I'm guessing any texts received during the time the phone was off has been deleted somewhere along the line. Shame.

Many thanks again.

Kind regards
Claudia

I don't know if this is even related, but when I synch my BlackBerry via the Desktop Manager, my SMS' are removed from the phone.... so perhaps yours were (from your account, not phone) if in fact you synched upon your return from overseas.

Shot in the dark I know.....

Does anyone know a way of retrieving from the synching process?
