Newbie Help needed

Hi saw the moderators on this site were helpful.

Hoping you can help out a newbie.

got my pearl yesterday. great.

put the disk in to load up desktop and it won't load. so i thought - i won't be beaten and went to the discoverblackberry.com site and tried to download the 4.2 sp2 and i get some run time java error.

now someone somewhere said it could be a windows installer issue or perhaps it is the annoying norton internet security i have but either way i don't know how to get this thing up and working. im guessing it is needed to sync and use all the blackberry features?

Hi Seano, can you please tell us the exact error message you are getting? Also at what point is the error appearing?

[got it sorted.

i went ot start >browse> then went and found .exe start up file and all sorted. now jsut got to work it all out.
