PlayBook Guide: Red light and then green blinking light (PlayBook won’t power on)

PlayBook Guide: Red light and then green blinking light (PlayBook won’t power on)

When you get a Red Light and then a flashing green light (5 green blinks and then a yellow blink) it normally indicates that the battery is dead flat. When this happens you MUST connect your device to the charger that was supplied with the PlayBook (it supplies more power than a standard BB charger) and then the device will automatically power up when ready. If you try and use a USB or standard BlackBerry charger it MAY NOT power up correctly.

    Hi,

Please ensure that you have Desktop Software 6.0.2 B45 or higher running on your PC > Connect your device to the PC via USB cable (connect it directly and do not use a USB hub) > Open the Desktop Software and see if it detects your device (otherwise press the power button for 10 seconds and it should detect the device) > Once detected you will get a prompt and select the middle option the upgrade > your firmware will then be reloaded (this also sets everything back to factory) > Once completed disconnect your device from the USB and then connect it the power charger supplied with the device > Within a few minutes it should automatically turn on.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Just a side note about power. The AC adapter for the playbook is 1800 mAh and the standard adapter for BB devices is 700 mah. The Playbook AC adapter is approved to work with bb devices and will charge them twice as fast. It is also noted that usb 500 mah usb computer connection as well as the 500 mah car adapter will slowly trickle charge the Playbook and in most cases, the device doesn't indicate it is charging but it does.
The Playbook quick charger however will not charge bb smartphone and may actually harm them.

    Hi.

I try to turn the PlayBook. And a red light for about about 2 seconds, followed by 5 green lights.
Connect the Playbook to the PC and try to follow the steps recommended by Gary but there is no way to recognize it, as if there was nothing plugged.
Connect the wall charger to Playbook but any light, any LED.

I have the latest version of Desktop Software.
Please help, and sorry for my bad english.
    Thanks.

Assuming your device was running the latest firmware you now just need to connect your device to the wall charger that was supplied with your PlayBook (the PlayBook charger supplies more power) > once connected to the wall charger leave it charging a 30+ minutes before trying to turn it on.

    Thanks Gary for your help.

But recently I find the USB socket that has the Playbook is broken. If I do a lot of pressure to the cable, my PC recognizes the Playbook.
Again I thank you for your help.

Sorry for my English, I speak Spanish and I am using the google translator.
