received old email on blackberry device only

Hello all,
I am new to blackberry and just now my boss told me that he had just received some old emails dated on Feb 1, 2008, Mar 18 2008 and etc.

He has two email account on his blackberry, one is using BES and the other one is using BIS (telstra).
This is only occurred on his 2nd email which is via BIS. Those old emails do not appear in the mail client only on the blackberry device. Last week the same thing also happened last week.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Halu,

I will need you to confirm with your Boss if these emails old emails had already been received on a prior date. Also are these emails from the one sender or company? And how is the BIS accounting collect email? (e.g. POP, email redirection etc).

Thanks,

Gary

Hi GaryCutri,

According to my boss he had received the email before on that date, he was sure because of the content of the email.
from what I have seen, yesterday he received 4 old emails from 1 email address (company) and last week 1 email from his accountant (for this one it was only a couple of hours different, his accountant send the email at 8am in the morning - he received it- then at 1pm/2pm my boss received the same email message). I'm not sure about the other old emails he received because he had deleted it.
we are using BIS (Telstra) POP service.
thank you for your response Gary.

Regards,
Halu

The last time I saw a customer with a similar issue it was caused by them a having BES and BIS account on the same device. Basically the BIS account got a copy of the email via POP and then his Outlook downloaded email via Exchange and a POP account. As Outlook downloaded the email via POP (into his Exchange mail file e.g. not into an offline PST) into it then uploaded a copy to Exchange and occasionally a duplicate would make it to the device.
