Problem
After upgrading to BlackBerry Internet Service 2.x, the following error message is displayed:
You are approaching your email storage capacity. You may wish to delete some old messages.
Cause
The Web Client [CMIME] service book is still present on the BlackBerry device, which is causing email messages to be sent through the BlackBerry Internet Service 1.8 account.
Resolution
Delete the Web Client [CMIME] service book from the BlackBerry device by completing the following steps:
- Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer using the USB cable.
- From the Home screen of the BlackBerry device, click Options.
Note: Depending on the theme running on your BlackBerry device, you may need to click Settings > Options.
- If using BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 or later, click Advanced Options > Service Book. If using BlackBerry Device Software 4.0 or earlier, click Service Book.
<LI dir=ltr>Click the Web Client [CMIME] service book entry, and then select Delete.
- In the Are You Sure? dialog box, click Delete. Note: You will no longer be able to reply to or forward messages that were received on the BlackBerry device before the upgrade.
Workaround
Use the new BlackBerry Internet Service service book when sending email messages. The BlackBerry device will recall the last service book used when sending to an email address of a contact in the Address Book. At the top of the email message, change the
Send Using field from
Web Client to the BlackBerry email address.
