Background
BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0 introduced the wireless backup and restore feature. With BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, the Service Book database will back up and restore wirelessly. This backup excludes any service books provided by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Prior to BlackBerry Device Software 4.1, the Service Book database did not back up wirelessly.
Problem
If a BlackBerry Enterprise Server user also uses the BlackBerry Internet Service and changes BlackBerry devices, the Service Books database will be restored upon completing an enterprise activation. This will provide the user with service books for an account the user is not authorized to use. Both devices must be running Device Software 4.1 for this to occur.
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
Workaround
Send new BlackBerry Internet Service 2.x service books for this account. For instructions, see KB02830.
