How to manage the BlackBerry Enterprise Server logs

Doc ID : KB14250
Last Modified : 2007-11-08
Document Type : How To

Environment
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later
Procedure

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server creates log files which can be used for troubleshooting issues. By default, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server keeps a record of all log files. These files can grow in size significantly and may require to be managed more efficiently.

To manage these files, you can perform any of the following procedures:

Procedure 1 - Change the location of the logs folder

If you have an additional hard disk drive on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you can change the location of the logs folder. For instructions on this procedure, see KB11384.

Procedure 2 - Set the age at which log files are deleted

You can specify the number of days that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will keep log files. Old log files will be deleted automatically. For instructions on this procedure, see KB10345.

Note: If you have log files older than the number of days specified, they should be deleted manually
