Last Modified : 2008-04-15
Document Type : What Is

Environment
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 5 (4.1.5)
Details

Wireless software installation is designed to provide a single, seamless integration from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to the BlackBerry smartphone. Software configurations are used to send Java® applications to BlackBerry smartphones over the wireless network. Software updates are pushed directly to BlackBerry smartphones over the wireless network with no need for a local area network (LAN) connection between a computer and the BlackBerry smartphone.

Additional Information

To use wireless software installation, BlackBerry® Device Software 4.5 must be installed on BlackBerry smartphones.
