One way calendar sync problem

Hi all,

I have got a problem with a few users in BB environment where user can create appointment in Outlook & it appear on BB but not the other way. It will show a tick but later after 5 seconds, change to a red 'X'. Upon opening it shows unlisted error message. BES version 4.0.0.110 with Exchange 2003

I have done the below checks.

1. cdo.dll & mapi32.dll are the same on both the bes & exchange server

2. User account has send as permission for besadmin

3. Wipe device, remove user account from BB server & reactivate

4. Stop & start BB Router service

5. Restart BB server

6. Found 2 errors under event viewer -> application ( BES server)
i) Event ID: 20000 {***@***} Unable to process Meeting Request in SendHelper
ii) Event ID: 20000 {***@***} Send() failed: ERR_NOT_INITIALIZED, Tag=4870111

Another question is can we upgrade to 4.0 Service Pack 7 directly? The link for release notes 4.0.7 seems broken. Do we need to apply Maintenance Release 3 after that?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just sent you a web link via PM for a download of SP7. Please ensure you logon as the BlackBerry Service Account (e.g. BESadmin) to apply this update.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

BES 4.1 is only up to Service Pack 6 which you can download HERE. The posts above are discussing the older BES version 4.0 which is up to SP7.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

I'm a newbie here and I'm having a similar problem.

I don't know the full BES details other than 4.0.x.
2 new handsets (both Blackberry Bold's) have problems with meeting invites. Sending invites presents exactly as above. Receiving invites skip the inbox and end up in the calendar, however you can't accept/reject them. I'm not sure if this second point was also happening with the above problem.

I've similarly been through all of the resets and account deletion and re-activation processes to no avail.

No other users seem to have this problem.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Mark.

Hi,

With BES 4.1 you need to update to SP6 and the MR2 which can be found using the links below:

BES 4.1 Service Pack 6 - Exchange

BES 4.1 Service Pack 6 MR2 - Exchange

Also with your configuration you need to ensure that Exchange System Manager on the BES has the same Exchange service packs installed that are running on the main mail server (e.g. SP2 and DST updates).

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

The best you can do is to ensure SP7 and MR3 are installed but you really need to look at upgrading to BES 4.1 with SP6. Once upgraded you will be able to access loads of new features on the BlackBerry Bolds and older devices that are upgraded to firmware 4.5 or higher (e.g. Open and edit documents, HTML email, free\busy calendar lookup and the list goes on).

Thanks,

Gary
