BES Express One-way Calendar Sync

Recently installed BES Express 5.0.1
Calendar entries in Outlook are sent to the BB devices, but calendar entries made on the BB deivces are not passed through to Outlook.
Our IT guru states that bi-directional calendar sync is not a feture of this program.

Can you please shed some light on this issue.

Hi,

All versions of BlackBerry Enterprise Server support two-way calendar synchronization. Can you please let us know what server BES is installed on (e.g. SBS2003 or separate server) and what other applications are running on it? Please note that this issue is normally caused by the incorrect version of cdo.dll being registered.

We're having the same issue all of a sudden across the board. We have BESx installed on Windows SBS 2003. Any ideas of where to start. We're also getting an error in the event log that says {xxxxx@xxxxxxx.com} Synchronize() failed: ERR_FAIL, Tag=33275.

Hi,

Please re-register the cdo.dll file located in the C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\BIN folder and then reboot the BES (i.e. full server restart). If the issue continues after the restart please check the BES MAGT log for errors and also confirm the following:

1. The Exchange permissions for the Blackberry Service Account (e.g. BESadmin) are correct
2. Ensure the Exchange Public Folder database is mounted.
2. Ensure the Blackberry Service Account is not a member of Domain Admins.

I have the same Problem and couldn't resolve it until now. Here is a screenshot of the dlls Bild: exchangemapib0kk.jpg - abload.de
BESAdmin has all the rights needed and isn't Domain-Admin.
I don't know what else to do :-S

You will need to ensure the following:

1. You must have “Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1” installed.
2. You need to ensure your Send As permissions are configured correctly.
3. In Active Directory (with Advanced features enabled) > Open each users properties > Select the Security tab > Select Advanced > Ensure each user is set to inherit permissions.

Thanks for the quick reply. 1 & 2 I did already! But I will try 3.
I'll post my result here afterwards.

#edit: I checked my settings in AD. and saw that BESADmin had just send as rights, should I set the rights to full access (=Vollzugriff) like this screenshot

BESadmin just requires Send As permissions.

As an FYI Service Pack 2 has been released for BES Express:
