Hi,

The only known and planned outage was for 11PM last night (Sat 31st May) as detailed in the post below:

Asia Pacific BIS Outage.

If your device is unable to connect please try removing and reinserting the battery into your device. If this fails please logon to your BIS account confirm that the email account is still active (if an error has occurred there will be a red cross to the left of your email account). If you are still unable to resolve this issue please contact Optus to check your account.

Thanks,

Gary

If you are running Viigo Rss reader you will need to do a restart on it after the outage. Just open the application and select 'Update all Channels" to kick it back into life...

Ok rang up Optus today and finally had the problem solved. The technician said something about last year when RIM upgraded the software there was an incompatibility with something on the Optus network they are still trying to find a permanant solution.

Basically what happened to my phone was I was not getting a GPRS signal on my 8310 Curve so therefore all my Blackberry services weren't working. I could only send sms's, send and receive phone calls even though everything was enabled on my account and It was working fine for the previous 6 months.

The solution to fix it was to go to options>mobile networks and set it to manual and then choose a network other than Optus eg. Telstra, Vodafone. After you do that and save it, you then set the network back to Optus. Did that and yay got the GPRS and all my Blackberry services working again. The technician mentioned it's totally random and probably would never happen to me again.

So if anyone on Optus has the same problem, just do the above and it should work.
