BES & Notes - do I need to install s/w on Notes server?

Sorry for the Newbie question.

I've been asked to organise a BB pilot for a company I've just started with.
The company uses Lotus Notes & Sametime.
I figure I'll have to set up a BES, BB Router, SQL DB & a Notes server.

I know very little about Notes, so I was wondering if I need to install some blackberry software on the notes server, or is it a matter of setting up an account & setting up routing rules/permissions?

The reason I ask is that I imagine the Notes Admins would be (rightly) concerned about installing software on a Notes server & supporting it (even a test one). And it'd be handy to know what sort of effort would be required on the Notes Admin part (or how many beers I need to buy them).

Also is there any idiots guide to setting up a BES in a Note environment?
(I've got the BES for Lotus Notes Domino install guide, but some more detailed info would be handy)

Cheers in advance.

As a quick summary you need to:

1. Setup a new server
2. Install Domino on this new server and configure a connection document and allow this Domino server relay via the main mail server.
3. On your main Domino server ensure the BES Domino server is allowed to relay
4. As per the install guide create a BlackBerryAdmins group and assign the correct permissions
5. Stop Domino on the new server and install BES

Please refer to the full install guide attached.

Thankyou kindly for the info. That make things a bit easier.

The Domino install on the BES server, is that for testing the connection is working?
Or does the BES actually use it too? (like a DB maybe)?

BES actually requires Domino to be installed for it to function. In other environments you can just install a client (e.g. Exchange System Manager) but Domino does require a fully functional Domino Server to be operating on the BES.
