    System Event Logs

    Hi,

There are a log of these System Event Logs in the BES v5.0.2 MR3 server

    Source: Application Popup
    Level: Informational
    Event ID: 26

Application popup: BBConvert.exe - System Error : The program can't start because WMVCore.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Does this Information Event mean Unsupported file type? or It is something that need to be fixed on the BES?

    Thanks

    Hi,

What version of Windows is BES running on?

This error indicates that a Windows file is corrupted or missing (it’s a windows media format runtime dll).

    Thanks,

    Gary

For Server 2008 x64 run the following command:

    pkgmgr.exe /ip /m:"%windir%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-Media-Format-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.0.6001.18000.mum "

For Server 2008 R2 run the following command:

    dism.exe /online /norestart /add-package /packagepath: "%windir%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-Media-Format-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385.mum " /ignorecheck

    Hi Gary,

It is Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bits.

So we need to run this cmd on the BES server?

    dism.exe /online /norestart /add-package /packagepath: "%windir%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-Media-Format-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385.mum " /ignorecheck

    Thanks

"Failed to update device OS to HTTP header compression version mapping for input string" error appears daily in the BlackBerry Enterprise Server MDAT log file

    BBConverter.exe

I wanted to follow up on this thread as I have a new BES 5.0 installation which is also throwing up a lot of application errors for the BBConverter, I have also had the occasional server restart. The OS is Win2k8 R2 SP1

I have two versions of WMVCore.dll installed, one amd the other x86. I have looked at the package recommended by Gary and I see that I have slightly newer packages.
    Microsoft-Windows-MediaPlayer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514
    Microsoft-Windows-MediaPlayer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~6.1.7601.17514.

So my question is, is this the same issue as reported by the original poster and will applying one of these packages above resolve the issue?

    Cheers
