Migrating to new BES Server

Hi All,

As of last week, our Blackberry server died and we had to rebuild a new one using the same SRP details etc.

We spoke to Blackberry support and they advised that if we named the new server the same as the old one with the same IP address etc, we should have no problems. So did that and all worked well, new server is up, users and their devices are added and all is working beautifully.

The only problem now is that when logging into the Blackberry manager, if i click on someones device, under the details it says:

IT Policy Status = Error
IT Policy Status Message = Reject Authentication Failed

I've read somewhere that this means that the device is still looking for the old BES server somewhere?

I've done a wipe of my device as a test and once wiped and reactivated, the error messages goes away. I guess my question is, as everything is still working for all users even though the error message is present, will it stop working all of a sudden after a set amount of time or is it OK for me to organise the wipe of devices slowly as we get them back in?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

This is not a major issue it basically means your device can't accept the I.T Policy being sent from the BES. At some stage all devices will need to be wiped and then reactivated and it will resolve this issue for you. From now on just make sure you have a daily backup of the BESMgmt database as you can restore the BES very quickly if required (also without the I.T Policy error).

Thanks,

Gary
