- Log in to the Exchange Server 2003 using an administration account that has Full Exchange administrator permissions.
- In Exchange System Manager, right-click Exchange Site (or the First Administrative Group), then selectDelegate control.
- Add the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account using the Exchange View Only Administrator role. For instructions, see KB-04293.
- In Exchange System Manager, expandServers.
- Right-click the Exchange Server 2003 name, then selectProperties.
- On the Security tab, select the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account.
- In the Permissions list, select the Allow check box for Send As, Receive As, and Administer Information Store.
- Click Apply, then clickOK.
- Repeat steps 4 to 7 for any additional Exchange Servers that contain mailboxes used by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
- Verify the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account is only a member of Domain Users and Local Administrators on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions, see KB-04293.
Update the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) subsystem
- Uninstall Exchange 2000 System Management tools from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and install Exchange System Manager 2003 tools. For instructions, search the Microsoft Exchange Server TechCenter. Note: If you are running BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0 Service Pack 4 or higher, install Exchange Management Tools Service Pack 2. If you are running an earlier version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, install Exchange Management Tools Service Pack 1.
- In Microsoft Windows® Explorer, go to C:\winnt\system32 and delete the CDO.dll file.
- To register the CDO.dll file, click Start>Run, type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\cdo.dll" and pressENTER.
Note: If you installed the Exchange System Management Tools in a directory other than the default location, you will need to correct the path the CDO.dll file.
Move the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account mailbox to Exchange Server 2003
- Migrate the administration account from Exchange Server 2000 Server to Exchange Server 2003.
Note: For administration account migration, use the Microsoft Move Mailbox tool. Using other applications may cause BlackBerry Enterprise Server information to be lost from the Exchange Server mailbox.
- Log on to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account.
- Click Start>Programs>BlackBerry Enterprise Server>Edit MAPI Profile, then type the Exchange Server 2003 name. Click Check Name to make sure the name resolves correctly.
- Select the mailbox associated with the MAPI profile, then click OK.
- Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Important: Restarting the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will delay message delivery to BlackBerry wireless devices. For more information, see KB-04789.
Additional Information
Important: For mailbox migration, use the Microsoft Move Mailbox tool. Using other applications may cause BlackBerry Enterprise Server information to be lost from the Exchange Server mailbox.
User mailbox moves are automatically detected every 15 to 30 minutes by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server when it scans the Global Address List (GAL) for updated user information. You can immediately notify the BlackBerry Enterprise Server of a moved mailbox by running
handheldcleanup.exe utility with the
-u switch. For more information, see KB-00140.
