Download and install the MAPI and CDO Clients that are missing when updating to Microsoft Exchange 2007

Environment- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 3
- Microsoft® Exchange 2007
Procedure
Background
Starting with Exchange 2007, neither the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) client libraries nor Collaboration Data Object (CDO) 1.2.1 are provided as a part of the base product installation. As a result, there is functionality missing that many applications depend on. Microsoft Exchange MAPI and CDO 1.2.1 provide access to these Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), which, in turn, provide access to the contents of MAPI stores.
Since the CDO and MAPI dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) are not available in Exchange 2007, you will have to download and install exchangemapiCDO.exe from the Microsoft website.
The missing MAPI and CDO DLLs cause problems when installing/upgrading the BlackBerry Enterprise Server with Microsoft Exchange 2007. This will be noted by receiving MAPI mismatch errors. As a result, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server cannot communicate with Microsoft Exchange directly or access the Global Address List and other server objects without these files.
Procedure
To download and install the MAPI Client:
- Go to the Microsoft Download Center.
- Search for the exchangeMapiCDO.exe page and display it.
- Click Download.
- You will be prompted to Run or Save the file.
- Click Run and it will save an ExchangeMapiCdo folder to a location of your choice.
- Open the folder and click ExchangeMapiCdo.MSI, which will apply all the CDO and MAPI files needed.
