Groupwise Sync Error

Hi All,

Not sure if this is a Groupwise address book sync error or something else but would be grateful for any help.

We have recently added a number of new users into ConsoleOne however when I try to now add one of those users onto the Blackberry Server they do not appear in the new users or find users list. I have tried to sync the address book but it always tells me that a sync is already in progress

Help!

Thanks

Jamie

Hi,

What is the exact version of BES that you are running? e.g. 4.1.4.15

You can try a manually updating the MbAddressLookup table from the GroupWise Address Book by following these steps:
  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. Change the directory to C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\
  3. Run GWSystemAddressBookSync.exe.
Thanks,

Gary

The manual update has worked - many thanks.

The Blackberry Manager is reporting version 4.0.2.20 - any ideas why this is not syncing automatically?

Kind Regards

Jamie

As your Blackberry Server is very out of date (SP2 was released in late 2005) it would be best to install Service Pack 7 and then Maintenance Release 3 to rule out many known issues.

Groupwise Sync Error

Hi - I have upgraded to Service Pack 7 and the upgrade went well however none of the Blackberries at the moment are able to send or receive any mail. The Blackberry Manager is reporting all is well and it can communicate with all of the handhelds but this is not the case on the devices. Could you please tell me the easiest way to check to see where communication between the devices is breaking down.

Really appreciate your help.

Jamie

Update

Update - the device can now send emails but cannot receive at all - from the BES I can send a message to the devices by PIN and it goes through ok but not by Email.

Thanks
