Unable to complete request when synchronizing with Novell GroupWise

Environment
  • BlackBerry® Desktop Manager 4.2
  • BlackBerry device
  • Novell® GroupWise® 7
Problem

When attempting to synchronize the BlackBerry device with Novell GroupWise, the following error is displayed:

Unable to complete request.

Cause

A personal information management (PIM) database on the BlackBerry device may be corrupt.

Resolution

When the above error appears, click and drag the error window to the side of the screen in order to see at which application the synchronization stopped. Then, follow these steps:
  1. On the computer, open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Select Synchronize > Configuration tab> Configure Synchronization.
  3. Select Calendar > Choose.
  4. Select the Import option.
  5. Click OK > OK > Synchronize tab > Synchronize now.
  6. From BlackBerry Desktop Manager, select Synchronize > Configuration tab> Configure Synchronization.
  7. Select Calendar > Choose.
  8. Select the Export option.
  9. Click OK > OK > Synchronize tab > Synchronize now.
Once you complete the above steps, synchronize the BlackBerry device.
  1. From BlackBerry Desktop Manager, select Synchronize > Configuration tab> Configure Synchronization.
  2. Select Calendar > Choose.
  3. Select the Synchronize option.
  4. Click OK > OK > Synchronize tab > Synchronize now.
