Missing Sync - Version 2 missing the sink altogether

I am writing to warn all Macintosh users that using the new version (version2) of Missing Sync is full of probelems and the support from Missing Sync is woeful.

Recently I downloaded version 2 and paid $29 for it - thinking that it would solve my continuing problems with version 1 - i.e the inability for the software to pull new contacts from my blackberry across to my Mac. But I was mistaken - in fact it wiped all my Contacts from the blackberry - many where unique because as above Missing Synch could never manage to get any unique contacts on my blackberry and paste them over to the Mac - it was always a one way affair. But as i found out much later this new software had also corrupted my blackberry software making any future attemts to sync contacts impossible and in fact any inputted contacts where now duplicated 6 times.

Getting a response from Missing Sync took over a week and then, sidestepping my now blackberry issues they proceeded to talk about what had happened as if it was my fault - and of course just mentioned at the end that perhaps i should now download and install the new version 2.0.1!

ummm so there was a F ... up and they were not big enough to admit it - and in the next three exchanges they just pretended the new problems with my blackberry, which happened to coincide with the arrival of their software, were not in my emails. Well I perservered with the new version but no Contacts would come across from the MAC and then I noticed an error messages on my blackberry after i followed another set of detailed instructions about what to do which included restarting my blackberry!!

After the three exchanges with Support I gave up and went to Vodafone Blackberry Support and they are very good - so wonderful to be able to talk to someone and have them take you through it - of course they knew nothing about Missing Sync so I have reverted back to Pocket MAC ... oh and of course I had to download a new operating system for the Blackberry because Missing Sync had managed to corrupt it!!!

Thanks Missing Sync I will be after my missing $29 but i don't think there is much hope - May Missing Sync go missing along with it!

Love to hear if others have had similar problems.

David - mac user

Hi,

Obviously every users Mac is different but I have fixed a few users issues by installing TMS V2. I have found if you use TMS you should ensure PocketMac is removed and before upgrading to V2 remove V1. Let’s hope the new BlackBerry tools for Mac bring big improvements when they are released later this year.

Thanks,

Gary
